Road Trips and Swimming Pools

School is out and life has been great. Busy, but great. The week after school got out, I took Zac and we went with 2 of the teachers that I teach with down to St. George for a couple of days. It was the first time Zac had been in the car that long. He did great till we got to about Cedar City and then he decided he had had enough and he screamed for 40 minutes till we got to St. George. What fun! We went so that I could go to Core Academy which are classes to help teach math and science. They had awesome ideas and I'm excited to use what I got next year. Michelle and Jodi were down at the same time taking their test for National Board (I'm pretty sure that will never happen for me after wathcing what they went through). They watched Zac while I was in class during the day.

Joni, Trish, and I had a great time together. They were nice enough to put up with the work of caring for the 4 month old.

When Zac hangs out with his aunts, he end up with a new wardrobe- we love the orange hat Shell!

We took Zac swimming for the first time while we were down in St. George. He loved it. He has always liked his baths and showers so it was no surprise.

We went to the pool at Jodi's grandparents condo and they have rules against babies being in the pool with diapers on. In fact, if we had gotten caught we would have been charged to drain the pool and have it disinfected. However, since we went at about 4:00, it was dinner time for the folks and there was no one else there. Here's to living on the edge.

The ride back from St. George was much more pleasant- Zac slept almost the entire time. The next week, we went swimming in Morgan. What a fun place. Thanks Grandpa George and Grandma Gwen. We had a fun day.

Jodi had to try on Zac's glasses. Very cool Jodi!

And lastly, I am asking my smart friends for some advice. Zac has gotten better about sleeping through the night, but has now decided that he doesn't need naps- ever. He'll get tired and fall asleep while I'm holding him, but as soon as I put him in his crib he's wide awake and then grumpy the rest of the day. I'm hoping it's just a phase, but I'd love any ideas anyone has for getting him to take his naps. Happy summer to you all.

5 things on my to do list: fold the laundry, make a job list schedule for myself for cleaning this summer, make a welcome home shirt for Zac to wear to the airport to meet his uncle, find a swimming suit (I know you're all jealous, it's so fun!!), get skinny
5 jobs I've had: Teach 4th grade, waitress at Rafael's, daycare teacher at Children's Academy, math tutor, Western Nut Company worker extrodinaire.
5 Places I have lived: Midvale UT/ Sandy, UT/ Logan, UT/ Salt Lake City, UT/Cottonwood Heights, UT
5 Favorite snacks: Fiber One bars (if you've never had them, go to the store and get a box now- peanut butter are my favorite- just be careful not to eat too many, they do have a lot of fiber in them), anything from Yogurt Stop (again, if you have never been to this lovely spot, you should get in your car and go, be careful, it can become a slight obsession- but it's OK cause it's yogurt not ice cream right), hot cinnamon rolls, Veggie Delight pizza from Pappa Murphy's, french fries (they are best when eaten off of Jon's plate- the calories don't count if I didn't order them right) Don't you love all my justifications- perhaps that is why it is taking me so long to lose weight.
5 things you don't know about me are: I have two fake teeth, I am terrified of bees, I love watching the food network but am not a great cook, I am great at jigging thanks to Emily, I love buying shoes- and yet love being barefoot.
5 thing I would do if I was a billionaire: Buy a house and get a maid to clean it, invest, buy shoes to my hearts content, buy books to my hearts content, get a boat.
5 things I love: My hot husband and darling son, reading, learning new things, being outside, and hearing Zac laugh.
5 people I tag: Sarah, Laura, Heidi, Mandy, Jeane

4 Months Old

My little boy is getting so big so fast. It is so fun to see him learn new things , and yet sometimes it makes me sad how ast it is going. Before he was born I had decided that I wanted to decorate his room with teddy bears and I found this bear . It was expensive so I had decided not to get it, but then my parents and sisters surprised me and got it for me for Christmas. I love it. It is very fun in his room. I had decided when I first saw it that it would be fun to take his picture with it as he grows to show in comparison how big he's getting. This has been really fun.

It is fun to see how much he has developed through the pictures and I am excited to see them all together as he gets older. Here's just a cute one of his big smile. When Zac decides to smile he goes all the way. It fills up his whole face.

Another thing he loves is looking in the mirror at himself (don't mind the excellent photography, dirty mirror, or spitty shirt). He just lauphs and laughs when he sees himself. I think he recognizes what a handsome devil he's looking at.

Zac has just started to try cereal. We don't get too much down the hatch yet, but we'll keep at it. I love this little boy!!

OK, I just spent about 2 hours looking for a cute new background for my blog. I got on the computer to work on report cards that need to be done for tomorrow, and now more than likely will not. After all the research I could have either payed a lot of money for a really cute one, or go back to my old one and as you see, I have gone back to the old one. (I couldn't justify to Jon spending money on something that I have not updated in so long). However, school is out in 2 1/2 days. Yippeeeee! Then you will get more pictures. Perhaps I should now go work on report cards. I'm sure no one would mind if they just all got A's and I was done with it. Sounds good to me :)
